Guy Pollino of Winchester was named All-America recently to cap a brilliant swimming career at Springfield College.

In the Division 2 NCAAs in Wisconsin, the senior co-captain finished third in 3-meter diving and fifth on the 1-meter board. In the New Englands, Pollino won the 1-meter and was third in 3-meter. His performance earned him the Charles Batterman Award, which goes to the senior diver scoring the most points in New England competition over a four-year period.

Last year, Pollino received the Bill Yorzyk Award as the most improved performer after qualifying for the nationals, where he placed 14th in 3-meter diving.

Pollino is a physical education major and graduated from Winchester, where he was captain of the swim team, in 1987.
