Lessons Overview

Diving Lessons offer a fun, friendly learning environment. At BAD, we use handspotting to accelerate correct techniques on many drills. There are typically at least three to four college-level coaches on deck for each lesson.  We offer lessons most Saturday mornings at our Concord location and Sunday evenings at our MIT location.

All divers must obtain membership with the AAU which costs $16.00. (Click here) A diver’s membership in AAU includes accident insurance and allows divers to compete in competitions. Memberships are good until Aug. 31st 2018. You may join for three years at a time.This may be done on line. Click Here then choose “Youth Sports” the sport of “Diving”, “Added Benefits”. Our club name is “Boston Area Diving” our club code is “WW6BY3“. You must take the “added benefits.” Please print out a copy of your AAU membership card.

All divers must complete the BAD Release Form by clicking here. Please bring this form to your first lesson.

Concord Diving Lessons

Starting on Saturday, January 10th and running through the end of March, we are offering lessons at the Beede Center in Concord, MA. The first 15 minutes of each lesson will be devoted to stretching and dry-land training on the mat. Each lesson will last one hour, and divers may choose from two lesson start times: 10:15 – 11:15 am or 11:00 – 12:00 am. The cost is $30/lesson please email us now and to confirm your spot. You will be able to customize your schedule and sign up for whichever weeks are convenient for you. Availability for these lessons is limited.

*Concord Residents should sign up with the Concord Recreation Department online for a residential discount.

MIT Lessons

Next lesson session begins January 4, 2015 Boston Area Diving will be offering diving lessons for divers of all levels at MIT in Cambridge, MA. Each lesson will last one hour and 15 minutes, and divers may choose from two lesson start times – Younger divers practice from 4:45 to 6:00 pm; older divers from 5:45 to 7:00 pm. The first 15 minutes of each lesson will be devoted to stretching and dry-land training on the mat. We have plenty of room in this program for participants. There is ample seating and parents may stay and watch. The cost is $35/lesson or $150/ 5 lessons. If you choose the latter option, you have 7 classes to complete the 5 lessons in. Please email to confirm your spot. Check the practice calendar each Sunday to confirm diving lessons.

Here are the confirmed dates and times for fall lessons: January 4, 18, 25. February 1, 8, 22. March 1, 8, 15, 22, 20. April 5, 12, 19, 26. Participants can start at anytime.

Starting January 4th, we will follow this time schedule: 4:45-6:00pm (12 and younger) and 5:45-7:00pm (13 and up)
